The Cupcake Avenue's Halloween-themed cupcakes were featured at The Cake & Bake Show competition.
Exciting news, The Cupcake Avenue took part in the 2022 Cake & Bake Show competition, which ran from Friday 21 October to Sunday 23 October at ExCeL London.
The theme this year was ‘Halloween’ and contestants were challenged to create eerie, creative, and visually impactful cupcakes. The cupcakes were judged on originality, skill, execution, and interpretation of the theme.
The Cupcake Avenue created optical illusion cupcakes entitled Dracula’s Gaze. The set of 12 cupcakes featured black and white fondant designs, models of Dracula’s face, dual-tone buttercream swirls, and notes of bloody red to compliment the theme. The design was inspired by the Saw movie franchise, and from having recently watched The Invitation (2022).
This was the first time The Cupcake Avenue took part in the show, and it was good to see all the other contestants' creations. Congratulations to this year's winners! It was great fun being involved in the competition and getting a glimpse of what happens behind the scenes ahead of the big weekend.
In addition to the baking competition, the show included cake decorating demonstrations by celebrity experts, food stalls, and a live podcast.
